BENNIE DILLON ORIGINAL LOFTS 700 Church Street Nashville, TN 37203 Building Use: Residential Condominium Size: 64,549 sq ft 86 Units Built in 1927, the historic Bennie Dillon Building is one of Nashville's major high-rise buildings of the early 20th century and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The architectural firm of Asmus and Clark's design for the building was described as "Italian Renaissance Revival," based upon the building's Gothic arching at the roofline and floriated series of corbel tables. Initially developed to provide working space for doctors, lawyers, and financial companies, the Bennie Dillon Building was renovated into residential living quarters in 1984 and was completely renovated in 1999. Novare Group, in partnership with Nashville-based Giarratana Development, purchased the building in April 2005, renaming it to Bennie Dillon Original Lofts, and converted the residences from apartments into loft-style one- and two-bedroom condominiums. Amenities include hardwood and terrazzo floors, high exposed ceilings, large windows, exposed-brick walls, granite countertops, brushed-aluminum backsplashes, historic lobby, reserved parking and state-of-the-art fitness center. Bennie Dillon also houses 3,300 sq ft of street-level retail. |
